Professional career and motivation

I am working in the e commerce sector for some years now and qualified as a front end developer. Started my apprenticeship in 2019 and finished it in 2022 to become a junior and since the beginning of 2024 I am a regular frontend developer at moebel.de.

What I like the most about my profession is the fact that every day is different and it's an endless journey to learn new things. You can't be a specialist in every technology, library or framework, but you can push the boundaries of your knowledge and thats what drives me. Additionally the work as a team is also very nice so you can cover different expertises and help each other out to create the best result. I am also a big fan of solving riddles and working as a developer involves solving riddles in a lot of situations.

Technical skills

The image above is a rough overview of my most learned technologies. The day to day topics evolve around Next.js, Typescript and React. Nevertheless I had several dives into the vast infrastructure of AWS and can setup stacks for services and maintain them. My exam of my apprenticeship was actually a data processing backend service so my focus is not 100% on the frontend. For almost a year I also put my fingers on a Flutter app and migrated it to a new and slimmer version. At a point were I had to decide to fully jump into app development I chose to stay in web development because it hooked me a little more. Does not mean that I will never come back to develop an app or start a personal project with Flutter if needed.

Personal Life

I was born and raised in Schleswig-Holsten. After graduating I moved to Hamburg to start a career. The area where I come from simply has not many offers in the field I am interested in. So since 2019 I am enjoying the big city life and so far I love it for this time of my life. Hamburg is an amazing city with loads of opportunities to eat, party and just discover new things. Working and living here also with international people opened my mind to interesting opinions. Overall just meeting various new people is awesome. In my hometown you saw the same faces every day.

Hobbies

First and foremost I am a gamer with all my heart. I play video games since I was a child and got my first gameboy. There is no favourite genre I play to be honest, rather a variety of games I just enjoy for different reasons. I will also include some games rankings/opinions in this blog here at some day. Video games are amazing pieces of art and a perfect way to stay in touch with my homies which do not live nearby. Jumping into a game and being fully immersed is just something I truly enjoy.

Going to the cinema with my girlfriend is the second favourite. Getting entertained by a good movie and feeling the love some actors, directors etc. put into this is fun every time we do that. Snacks inside the cinema are always a must of corse. There will be maybe some movie rankings here as well.

Spending time with friends is also wonderful but not a hobby by definition I would say.
